Last year on a whim, I decided use the excuse of National Mushroom Month in September to sketch and explore mushrooms in nature. I had no idea at the time that studying mushrooms and fungi, a science known as mycology, would quickly become a huge passion.
Fast forward to a year later, and my passion for mycology has only grown. I love that this passion has also rubbed off onto others. Friends, family members, and many of you readers tell me that they now notice mushrooms, and when they see one, they tend to think of me. (What an honor!)
Many of you send me photos of your found fungi, and it's an extreme pleasure to witness these cool finds. Thank you so much for allowing me to celebrate these discoveries with you!
