To go along with the series on Nature Journaling for Kids, I thought I'd share two, simple nature journal page printables that may help children better observe the world around them. These pages are best used with younger children or those just beginning nature journaling and can easily be organized to create a beginner's nature notebook.
There are two versions available for download. One printable contains questions to prompt observations which is great for very young children. For those who want to ask their own questions or would like a bit more journaling freedom, the second printable replaces the questions with blank lines.
For a more effective journaling and sketching experience, I highly recommend printing the PDF onto a decent cardstock or art paper. Two journaling pages will print on an 8.5x11-inch paper in landscape format. Simply cut the paper in half where the light gray dots are. This will leave a generous 3/4-inch left-sided border to allow for binding.
I used a mini three-hole punch and placed the pages into a mini binder. This works well because the binder's cover can be opened completely to have a flat, unhindered surface for journaling and sketching, yet notebook pages can still be added or removed easily.
