Morning Light on the Marsh

43.00

We've spent half our lives on the North Carolina coast, and though I love the beach, I think the marshlands are the most scenic. There's always something to see, whether it's the rush of wind though the grasses, herons peering into the water, or fiddler crabs scurrying sideways into their holes.

Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to view wildlife and appreciate the marsh's beauty. In the quiet morning hours, I love how the midst lingers a bit longer as it waits for the golden morning light to cut through the channels and burn it away for the day. That's the moment that I tried to capture in this painting.
